Bilingual Minds Learning Center is a bilingual and inclusive preschool that is part of CBA’s educational programs.

It was founded in early 2024, with the primary goal of serving families from Austin and the surrounding cities who are looking for a safe space for development and meaningful learning for children from 18 months to 5 years old.

The Bilingual Minds Learning Center offers an inclusive and bilingual pedagogical proposal: English/Portuguese or English/Spanish. Our children receive an education focused on developing individual skills and valuing differences as a form of personal and social growth. At our school, differences are very much welcomed and celebrated, because we understand that every human being is unique and special.

At the Bilingual Minds Learning Center, we value a curriculum of excellence that is based on new discoveries in neuroscience. We are inspired by the educational principles of the Reggio Emilia philosophy, where children are seen as competent beings, learning about the world through interaction and exploration of their environments. In this philosophy of education, children have the freedom to create their own hypotheses about the world and test them so that they can reach conclusions that help them understand and navigate the world in a creative and assertive way.

Our curriculum is also Play-Based following the guidelines proposed by UDL (Universal Design for Learning), i.e. we plan the children’s activities in a playful and creative way, while at the same time within a framework to optimize teaching and learning for ALL children and their abilities, based on scientific knowledge about how humans learn.

In addition, there is the great benefit of the bilingualism offered by our pre-school. According to the US Department of Education, young bilingual students develop the following advantages over monolingual children:

– Understanding mathematical concepts and solving problems using words

– Development of strong thinking skills

– Use of logic, focus, memory and decision-making

Babies who grow up in bilingual families show better self-control, a key indicator of school success. Being bilingual helps children maintain strong ties with their family, culture and community.

It’s an advantage for life!
