English for young people and adults
English - English as a Second Language (ESL)
Understanding and speaking the students’ mother tongue helps in teaching the second language because teachers can guide students to make connections and transfers between languages and this leads to faster learning of the second language.
Our teachers are familiar with both cultures and can help students navigate American culture. Classes include conversation, discussion, reading, grammar and vocabulary acquisition. As with all Projeto Brasil programs, we use a mixture of methodologies, always taking into account the abilities and needs of our students.
This leads to faster learning of the second language.
Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PLE) or Heritage Language (PLH) for Young People & Adults
Portuguese as a Foreign and Heritage Language
Projeto Brasil offers Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PLE) and Portuguese as a Heritage Language programs for young people and adults.
We also offer writing workshops for heritage speakers.
At the moment we only offer private Portuguese lessons for young people and adults.
Fill in the Pre-registration form with your availability and needs and we will contact you with timetable options. Price per lesson/hour online $45, in person depends on the distance from the location.

Portuguese as a Heritage Language
Writing Workshops - PLH
This workshop was developed especially for heritage speakers who didn’t have the opportunity to develop their writing skills during childhood.
There are two workshops lasting 6 weeks each so that teenagers and young people can learn the specific orthographic characteristics of the Portuguese language.

We offer innovative programs that prepare young people for the job market, combining Portuguese language learning with the development of essential skills
Children's program
Maintain the cultural and linguistic bond between Portuguese-speaking children and adults through weekly private and online classes, cultural events and workshops in the arts, cooking, music, science and Brazilian history, among others.

If the class is full, your child will be put on the waiting list for the class when you register. We will start a new class if there is a minimum number of students on the waiting list. If there are no vacancies in September, we will refund the full registration fee.
