Comprometimento de tempo: Presencial - segunda - sexta das 7 am - 1 pm ou 12-6 pm.

Voluntariado: Somos uma organização sem fins lucrativos e todos empregados também contribuem com horas de voluntariado. Professores deverão contribuir com o mínimo de 2 horas de voluntariado durante o ano escolar em eventos como Dia das Crianças, Cai na Folia, Festa Junina ou Brazil Fest.

Position information: Hired employee – average of 30 hours/month

Job Summary:

Cultura Brasil Austin - Bilingual Minds is seeking classroom assistants who are native-like speakers of Portuguese or English, passionate about working with children and youth, and excited to embrace the Brazilian-American community in the Greater Austin area.

Portuguese classroom assistant must have a strong understanding of Brazilian culture, including literature, art, customs and traditions. Both Portuguese and English classroom assistants will be responsible for motivating and instructing students to improve vocabulary, speaking, reading, writing and listening of Portuguese or English for different proficiency levels and ages.

Applicant must possess a U.S. work permit.

Job duties shall include, but are not limited to:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Relevant experience working with young children in a preschool or early childhood education setting.

Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching methods.

Patience, empathy, and the ability to engage and connect with young children.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.

Ability to follow directions, work collaboratively as part of a team, and take initiative when needed.

Basic understanding of health and safety practices in an early childhood education setting.

CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess a U.S work permit;

Native-like proficiency in Portuguese - Portuguese classroom assistant;

Native-like proficiency in English - English classroom assistant;

High school diploma

Positive attitude, resourceful, and excellent team player.

Compensation: Pay rate is $15-18/ hour, depending on qualifications.
