Presencial pré-escola: com crianças de 18 meses - 5 anos em North Austin.

Local presencial - Greater Austin Area: North Austin (620 entre Anderson Mill e 2222)

Comprometimento de tempo: Presencial - Segunda - sexta das 9 - 15 h

Voluntariado: Somos uma organização sem fins lucrativos e todos empregados também contribuem com horas de voluntariado. Professores deverão contribuir com o mínimo de 4 horas de voluntariado durante o ano escolar em eventos como Dia das Crianças, Cai na Folia, Festa Junina ou Brazil Fest.

Qualificações:

Diploma do ensino medio ou equivalente.

Compreensão dos princípios de desenvolvimento infantil, conceitos iniciais de alfabetização, matemática e metodologias de ensino apropriadas à idade.

Conhecimento dos padrões e melhores práticas de educação infantil.

Excelente comunicação e habilidades interpessoais para interagir com crianças, pais e colegas de forma eficaz.

Paciência, empatia e capacidade de criar um ambiente estimulante e de apoio para crianças pequenas.

Fortes habilidades organizacionais e de gerenciamento de tempo para planejar e implementar aulas e atividades envolventes.

Preschool Portuguese and English Head Teacher:

Position: Head teacher

Organization: Cultura Brasil Austin- Bilingual Minds, a nonprofit organization offering a bilingual, inclusive preschool program fro children 18 months to 5 years olds as well as community outreach programs, community integration, and cultural events.

Location: North Austin Area on 620 between Anderson Mill and 2222

Position information: Hired employee – average of 30 hours/week

Job Summary:

Cultura Brasil Austin - Bilingual Minds is seeking teachers who are native-like speakers of Portuguese or English for the bilingual 50/50 program, passionate about working with children, and excited to embrace the Brazilian-American community in the Greater Austin area.

Portuguese Head teacher must have a strong understanding of Brazilian culture, including literature, art, customs and traditions. Applicant will be responsible for motivating students to communicate in Portuguese and English for different proficiency levels and ages.

Applicant must have High School diploma or equivalent. Associate or Bachelor Degree preferable

Strong understanding of child development principles, early literacy and numeracy concepts, and age-appropriate teaching methodologies.

Knowledge of early childhood education standards and best practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues effectively.

Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a nurturing and supportive environment for young children.

Strong organizational and time management skills to plan and implement engaging lessons and activities.

Applicant must possess a U.S. work permit.

Job duties shall include, but are not limited to:

Provide basic needs for children

Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities

Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children

Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents

Manage classroom activities including lessons, play, breaks and meals

Track childrens’ progress and report to parents Maintain a clean and tidy classroom

Help children reach developmental milestones Collaborate with others to implement lesson plans

Encourage children to interact with each other to develop social skills

Provide appropriate supervision for children at all times

Maintain inventory system for classroom materials and supplies

Facilitate various activities for children including songs, games and storytelling

Adhere to health/safety and sanitation procedures;

Arrive by 8:45 am Classroom needs to be ready to receive students 5 minutes prior to the beginning of class;

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess a U.S work permit;

Native-like proficiency in Portuguese for Portuguese Head Teacher;

Native-like proficiency in English for English Head Teacher;

Compensation: Pay rate is $25-$30 per teaching hour, depending on qualifications.
