The etymology of the word “volunteer” teaches us that the term was born from the Latin “voluntariu” meaning “one who acts of his own free will”. Our dictionaries are clear: a volunteer is someone who does or fails to do something without coercion or imposition from anyone; that it is done of its own free will, without constraint or obligation; which is not for profit purposes. So, the volunteer is the one who wants to donate. Ready!

Is someone who has the expertise in something and you want to donate that knowledge, without coercion or imposition. You know and want to share, without expecting anything in return.

But we know that there is, yes, a lot in return, in volunteer work:

• Donating time to a cause makes you feel lighter
• Volunteer work helps you get to know yourself even better
• You will be able to develop new skills and feel more fulfilled
• It's an opportunity to open your mind even more
• You will learn to get around obstacles
• You will find like-minded people with similar values
• Increase your network of contacts, living with other good people

The CBA has several very interesting opportunities for participation, whether as a volunteer: education, events, information and community support, communication and marketing, entrepreneurship, administration and finance, fundraising. Whatever your area of interest, we would love to count on you to develop, with us, actions that can make a difference.
