Project Brasil: Workshops
With workshops such as Drawing & Crafts, Singing and Story time, Capoeira, Science Club, Club Maker, and Canal Projeto Brasil, your child or teenager will develop skills in areas of their own interest and, of course, will also develop their oral, writing, and reading Portuguese skills.
Steam Club
Create, invent, reinvent! STEAM Club will challenge you to create, solve problems, and invent new things.
The activities and challenges encourage language skills in the areas of speaking, writing and reading and vocabulary acquisition. But this workshop goes far beyond language skills!
We use the methodology Maker Movement, which promotes collaboration, engagement, learning in practice and, with the mistakes made, encourages creativity, in addition to autonomy, leadership, proactivity, problem solving, critical thinking, resilience, and entrepreneurship.
Drawing, Painting, & Crafts
In our art and painting classes, with teacher Marcia Maia, students will work on drawing, painting, and craft projects with themes exclusively linked to our culture and with an emphasis on the artistic expression of each student.
We will use traditional materials for drawing and painting, as well as low-cost and recycled materials for crafts.
Traditional Games
A super fun workshop for children from 3 years old to K.
Our students will have fun with games such as Colored Elephant, Corre Cotia, Statue, Coelhinho na Toca and many others.
And lots of musical games will also brighten up Saturday mornings!Come sing and play in Portuguese with us.
Maker Club
A workshop to nurture curiosity and creativity. Come have fun with maker challenges, work on your problem solving skills, cooperation, and creativity.
Singing & Storytime
Workshop full of stories and music for children aged 3 to K.
This workshop encourages conversation and vocabulary acquisition through stories and musical games.
Come sing, play, and listen to stories with us.
Capoeira
Guilherme Torres - “Mestre Pinga Fogo” -, has taught capoeira to children and adults for over 20 years. His classes are always well diversified, as he believes that capoeira is much more than just being “upside down”, so his classes are divided into practice, theory, and musicality.
Through the art of capoeira, he manages to teach children and adolescents in a playful and fun way, the Brazilian culture, the Portuguese language, traditional music and dances, and the history of Brazil.
Culinary
Come learn to cook with us! You will certainly have fun in our kitchen with delicious and easy recipes.
This workshop encourages the acquisition of vocabulary.
Come get your hands dirty with us!
Brazilian Artists
In this workshop, children and teenagers will get to know several Brazilian artists, their styles and famous works. They will have the opportunity to recreate works or reinterpret a work of art.
The Projeto Brasil Channel
This workshop for pre-teens and teenagers in grades 5 to 8 explores film editing and podcast apps, using green screens, creating and editing text, filming and lighting.
You choose your role: you can be a reporter or presenter, you can work behind the scenes editing videos and podcasts, or you can have both roles.

Science Club
Each week is a different experience.
We will learn about the scientific method by observing, questioning, creating hypotheses, experimenting, and analyzing the results and reaching a conclusion.
